Die in Nürnberg geborene Pianistin, Sabine Saito, ist in Schorndorf aufgewachsen und erhielt ihren ersten Klavierunterricht mit 7 Jahren unter anderem von Dieter Hornung. Später folgte ein Musikstudium an der Musikhochschule Trossingen bei den Professoren Jaime Padrós und Friedemann Rieger. Ihre Ausbildung erweiterte sie auch durch die Teilnahme an Klaviermeisterkursen bei dem aus Ungarn stammenden Pianisten Attila Nemethy und dem russischen Pianisten Alexander Bondurjansky.
Während ihres Studiums haben sich Sabine und Takahiko Saito als Klavierduo zusammengefunden. Sie nahmen erfolgreich an verschiedenen internationalen Klavierwettbewerben teil, darunter in Paris der „Concours Musical de France” 1995, der Franz Schubert Wettbewerb in Jesenik 1999, der „Torneo Internationale di Musica” in Rom 1999, und der „International Piano Duo Concours” in Tokyo.
Heute ist sie als Klavierduopartnerin pianistisch sowie als Klavierpädagogin tätig.
I was born in Nürnberg, grew up in Schorndorf, and received my first piano lessons at the age of seven. I later studied with Jaime Padrós and Friedemann Rieger at the Trossingen Music Academy, where I received my diploma.
With my husband Takahiko Saito we joined forces as a piano duo whilst students and participated successfully at international competitions, including 1995 „Concours Musical de France” in Paris, the 1999 Franz Schubert Competition in Jesenik, the 1999 „Torneo Internationale di Musica” in Rome and the International Piano Duo Competition in Tokyo in 2000.
Currently, I play concerts with my husband, and also teach piano.

Der Pianist und Komponist Takahiko Saito entstammt einer Musikerfamilie aus Tokyo ( Japan). Er erhielt seinen ersten Klavierunterricht von Kozuko Sato mit 5 Jahren. Später studierte er an der Musikhochschule Kunitachi in Tokyo Komposition bei Yoshiko Ogahara und Klavier bei Setsuko Minami. 1984 kam er nach Deutschland, wo er seine pianistische Tätigkeit bei Boris Lvov und Friedemann Rieger vervollständigte.
Zusätzlich erweiterte er seine pianistische Ausbildung durch die Teilnahme an Klaviermeisterkursen in der Nähe von Mailand bei Prof. André Marchand und bei Prof. Vitaly Margulis in Freiburg. Nach seinem Musikhochschuldiplom schloss sich noch ein Aufbaustudium an.
Mit Sabine Saito fand er sich als Klavierduo zusammen, welches regelmäßig konzertiert. Er bearbeitet viele für Solo-Klavier komponierte Musikstücke und arrangiert diese für Klavier zu vier Händen.
The pianist and composer Takahiko Saito, from Tokyo, Japan, received his first piano lesson from Kozuko Sato at the age of 5. Later, he studied composition at the Kunitachi Music Academy in Tokyo with Yoshiko Ogahara (piano) and Setsuko Minami (composition). In 1984, Takahiko came to Germany where he completed his piano studies in Trossingen with Boris Lvov and Friedemann Rieger at the Trossingen Music Academy.
In Milano, Italy, he participated in piano master classes with André Marchand, and later with Vitaly Margulis in Freiburg.
His concern as a composer is in adapting solo piano works for four hands and making them accessible to a wider public.
He and his wife Sabine Saito play recitals mainly in Germany.
